Albert Heijn, the largest supermarket firm in the Netherlands, had a wish to enhance the customer experience by developing a personal shop assistant for their XL stores. When customers come to the store they log in with their member card (bonuscard).
The ShopAssistant helps with finding your way in the store, offer inspiring recipes, and product information.
The ShopAssistant collects data about the groceries that you buy, this data is used to show offers that could be interesting for you. The customer scans his groceries, which makes the checkout very simple by scanning one barcode unique for your receipt. To get a better impression it is possible to watch the prototype video, which was used to perform a usability study.
